SUBSIDISED COUNSELLING The trauma experienced following the homicide can kill or damage your ability to understand what’s happened, your sense of security, your capacity to cope, and your spirit to carry on.

In 2006, ADVIC ran its first series of specialised homicide trauma training workshops for professional counsellors, the counsellors who successfully completed the workshops in December 2006, are now part of the AdVIC subsidised counselling scheme which has been in operation since March 2007
Outside of Dublin It is available in Arklow Co Wicklow; Athy Co Carlow; Ballincollig Co Cork ;Rathcoole Co Dublin; Nass Co Kildare; New Ross Co Wexford; Kilkenny City Co Kilkenny; Outrath Co Kilkenny, Blackwater Co Wexford All subsidised counselling is funded by the Commission for the support of victims of crime, the Family Support Agency and by Donations from the public and Families bereaved by homicide.
