HOMOCIDE BEREAVEMENT THERAPY GROUP

AdVIC first Homicide Bereavement Therapy group took place in 2009 and was an outstanding success with 11 people taking part.

The Dublin-based 10-week programme started in January and was facilitated by two therapists.

The aim of the programme is to create a safe supportive environment for family members and close friends of homicide victims to share their experiences and to explore how they might move forward.

It is considered an invaluable aid to the recovery process and provides a unique opportunity to make contact with others who have had to live with the trauma of the death by homicide of a close friend or family member.

AdVIC will be running another 10-week programme next year and it will again be Dublin based.

Dates have yet to be finalised but the programme is expected to commence early in 2010 and will run from 7pm to 9pm once a week for 10 consecutive weeks.

If you would like to take part in next year’s programme (numbers are restricted to 12 people) please contact us and we’ll reserve a place for you.
