Peer Support

Peer Support

Informative meetings for families and friends of homicide victims take place regularly to help families who have all experienced similar tragedies to share their experiences and provide peer support for others.  Information on specific facets of the Criminal Justice System and issues affecting families following the homicide are provided through the use of invited speakers

Every second year, a memorial service whose primary purpose is to remember and honour all victims of homicide is organised by AdVIC.

It is a moving ceremony when families bring pictures, poem, mementos and light candles to remember their loved ones. The courage and very special bound between all those families  help make the memorial service a very special occasion
